My cover of an OST from The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV.

I work on this song as a test of my newly acquired Waves Horizon bundle. It still need a lot more work but it does sound ok now comparing to the previous version of the same song I’ve been working on before.

Equipment.

In this project I use quite a few virtual instruments as well as a couple of the real thing.

• Rhythm guitar tracks are Yamaha SG-500 through Line 6 Helix LT, Archetype and Revv Gen Red models are used in different tracks with an overdrive.
• Lead guitar is my Ibanez S470, with Seymour Duncan Jazz and JB pickups, through Line 6 Helix Archetype model.
• Bass is Fernandes 4 string, using Ampeg model I believe.
• Drums is Toontrack EZ Drummer with Modern Metal EZX.
• Piano is Arturia Piano V3.
• All other instruments are basically Roland Zenology.

As for plugins, I mainly use the Waves’s one here, notably the SSL E-Channel on almost all tracks, and CLA-76 compressor on a few tracks and the master bus. The delay are all H-Delay, and reverb are Trueverb.

I also use Waves NX plugin for headphone mixing. It was bypassed when exporting the song though.

Last but not least, the whole song is recorded in Cubase 11.
